Leading German bike fitter Daniel Schade is the latest name to join IBFI’s independent steering committee.
Munster-based sports scientist Schade is biomechanics researcher who helped develop the
gebioMized pressure mapping system.
He has fitted several ProTour teams including Movistar and Trek factory Racing, and trains fitters all over the work through the ISCO fit school.
Schade joins existing committee members Kit Vogel, director of clinical education for leading US fitters BikeFit, Ximo Borras, who established CyclingMetric in Spain in 2010 and US physical therapist Curtis Cramblett, who is the bike fitter and physio for Team Cannondale-Garmin.
Renowned Australian fitter Steve Hogg, leading US fitter Happy Freedman and IBFI president and founder Andy Brooke, a Retul master fitter in the UK, also make up the group.
The role of the committee is to oversee the IBFI accreditation process, which includes determining course credits and grading and accrediting fitters applying for accreditation
The group is made up entirely of volunteers who are committed to developing standards in the industry to help both trained fitters and consumers who are looking for a quality bike fit.
