US fitter Happy Freedman joins IBFI committee

World-renowned US bike fit expert Happy Freedman is now a member of the IBFI committee.

A former competitive cyclist, Freedman’s wealth of experience includes developing sports-specific foot orthotics, teaching advanced biomachinics, and coaching the Columbia University Cycling Team.

HappyFreedmanHe also has a position in a non-surgical foot and ankle practice at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, where he offers biomechanical corrections to help speed healing and reduce the risk of injury re-occurrence.

As well as developing a state-of-the-art Bikefit Lab, to be used for performance and clinical bikefitting as well as research, Freedman is also a member of the faculty of the Medicine of Cycling Conference.

Freedman joins existing committee members Kit Vogel, the Director of Clinical Education for leading US fitters BikeFit, Ximo Borras, who established CyclingMetric in Spain in 2010, US physical therapist Curtis Cramblett who is the bike fitter and physio for Team Cannondale-Garmin, and renowned Australian fitter Steve Hogg.

The committee is led by IBFI president and founder Andy Brooke, a Retul master fitter in the UK.
