Nick Dinsdale - elite sports therapist, academic, speaker, competitive athlete and head of bike fit at the NJD Sports Injury Centre - has over 30 years’ experience of treating sports injuries. After achieving his BSc in Sports Therapy, he studied for a Masters in Sports Injury Management; he has also served on the senior board at The Society of Sports Therapists and has carried out extensive research into the interface between foot and pedal in cycling at Manchester Met University.
However, alongside his academic achievements and accolades, Nick is also lauded for his practical, hands-on approach to bike fit. NJD’s three step process - initial physiological assessment, personalised cycling rehab programme and advice and then comprehensive bike fit involving motion capture video and foot/pedal analysis - is thorough and suits riders of all types and abilities. There are three tiers of bike fit packages, a basic static bike fit as well as a bike fit option specially designed for triathletes.
The NJD website is a wealth of information on all things bike fit, with detailed information about the science behind bike fit, relevant articles and information about the most common cycling injuries. With rehab exercises included as part of the bike fit process at NJD and sports massage and other therapies available on-site, the clinic takes a rounded approach to recovery, rehab and improvement. Nick also teaches regular courses on cycling injury and bike fit for therapists.
