IBFI New Zealand Masterclass with Curtis Cramblett and Justin Ralph – Lower Extremity Evaluation And Interventions On And Off The Bike

Tips for training aerodynamic postures and improving strength and mobility off the bike are set to come under the spotlight during a special IBFI event in New Zealand in 2020.
Led by renowned US bike fitter and cycling coach Curtis Cramblett and New Zealand Cycling Physio and bike fitter Justin Ralph, the special two-day workshop is set to give anyone who works with cyclists the chance to learn common intervention strategies for dealing with a host of cycling-related issues.
As well as getting to grips with the basics of bike fitting, delegates will have the opportunity to learn how to carry out lower extremity evaluations and assessments, and learn how to solve some of the more complex issues cyclists face.
Other sessions included in the event will bike fit changes, bike exercies, and how to solve some of the more complex issues cyclists face
Held at the Avantidrome in Cambridge, New Zeland, on 17 and 18 January, the conference is open to bike fitters as well as physical therapists, personal trainers, osteopaths, massage therapists, physicians and coaches.
Delegates don’t have to be IBFI members to attend, and spots are open to all nationalities.

Profile – Curtis Cramblett

CURTIS CRAMBLETT is the founder of Revolutions In Fitness in San Jose, California. He is a Physical Therapist, Cycling Coach and Certified Bike Fitter.

Curtis has been practicing as a Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) for over 20 years. He holds a BS in Exercise Physiology and Physical Therapy from Ohio University. He is a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) and teaches for the Institute of Physical Arts. Continuing education and certification efforts are a product of his unique dedication to staying on the cutting-edge of advances in the world of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine.

Curtis has been primarily treating a sports medicine and active population. He also works with professional and Olympic-level athletes and is an expert at identifying and addressing musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Curtis was selected by the Garmin-Cervélo Professional Cycling Team for Bike Fitting and Physical Therapy services. Curtis has also provided services to numerous Olympic, professional and elite athletes including cyclists, triathletes, Olympic speed skaters and professional golfers.

Curtis has been an avid cyclist for more than 25 years and has spent thousands of hours on his bike. He is a nationally competitive mountain bike racer and races road bikes regionally. He has also ridden several multi-day long distance rides, including the 600-mile California AIDS Ride. Decades of experience with competitive cyclists, extensive continuing education in manual and exercise therapy, and an expert level coaching certification has given him a unique perspective on the challenges and benefits of being an athlete, particularly a cyclist.

Thanks to his cycling career, Curtis has also had plenty of personal experience with injury and recovery, including herniated discs, knee disorders, neck injuries and myriad other injuries.  He strives to help his clients identify and reach their fitness, health and athletic goals by applying solid principles and extensive knowledge. Through dedication to his craft and careful attention to his clients, Curtis enjoys seeing positive results and strong gains, time and again.Curtis is renowned for and sought after for his teaching. Profile – Justin Ralph

Justin is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with both a Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy and a Postgraduate certificate in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He works at the New Zealand High Performance Center supporting the national team with both physiotherapy and bike fitting services.

He is a fully trained SICI bike fitter and has attended bike fitting conference across the world. Justin has also worked on research projects with the New Zealand national track cycling team to explore every opportunity to gain a performance advantage for their athletes.
